What is this?
I'm going to blog about my efforts to improve my fitness, every day for 365 days. I may not blog every day, but I am going to improve my fitness every day. I am going to focus on eating right and working out. But if that was all I did it would be a boring blog. So I am also going to focus on trying new things, and seeing what my body can do. Not only will this be more interesting, but it should keep me motivated to keep working on my fitness level.
Why is this?
I was inspired a lot by http://www.344pounds.com/. Tyler who authors this blog has lost a lot of weight. He has blogged about how to lose weight, and also about his life and challenges along the way. He encourages everyone to achieve their goals, and to blog about it. Blogging can be fun, and can keep you accountable to yourself.
I am not sure why I thought about doing a 365 days challenge. But when I started reading about it I found this article
http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/communication-central/200912/365-day-project-explode-your-potential-goals-new-years-resolutions
The article describes the benefits of a 365 days challenge, "You create a lifestyle that includes your wildest dream.Your skills or talent multiply.Your confidence and self esteem sky rockets; and You become the outcome you desired." The authors stress that you need to set reasonable goals. The benefits of the challenge only work if you build on the small things you do each day, so that over time you can achieve your goals. It is important to avoid burn out.
So sometimes improving my fitness might get creative, and include meditation, or other alternatives. I don't plan on working out for 365 days in a row, it just isn't realistic.
Why is is interesting?
Hopefully funny pictures and stories of the things I have tried and failed at.
