I am going to give this blog one more try. I think this is the fourth time I've started over.
It's become even more important that I do something good for myself. I've been getting sad and disappointed with myself. I am still working retail, it's been four months now. I haven't applied for any jobs since the before the holidays. I have settled into this life, and I'm unhappy with it. I have to keep trying to change my life. I've never been good at doing homework, or at working out on a regular basis. But giving up on those goals has only made me more depressed. So I will keep trying.
Today I made vegetarian split pea soup in the crock pot. I also cleaned my room, which doesn't sound like much. But climbing over crap, picking things up and cleaning is actually a mild work out for me. I am so out of shape.
My short term goals include working on my fitness and my waistline for our trip to Florida. Then losing weight and inches for Laura's wedding. My long term goal is that by the time this year is over I will be fit, have a good job, and be happier.
My inspirational photo of the day. Me! This was November 2006. I was in China. I hiked Mt. Taishan. I was around 170 pounds at this time, which for me was 20 pounds overweight. I didn't feel very fit, but I was still trying new things. I was travelling around China on my own! I want to be this woman again.
Let's go!

How am I doing?
Well.
I have been losing weight every week simply by eating right and going to work. This is very satisfying.
But I have not been working out. At work I move heavy bags, and stock cans all day, and I have noticed some muscle fatigue. This is good.
But the whole point was that I wanted my body to feel better. So I need to get back to my challenge.
Getting a new job is tough, so how long do I let myself off the hook, before I get back to my challenge?
Monday morning is my weigh in, I think a few pounds will happen. Good good.
My sister has lost 50 pounds.

Super Weigh In
I weighed in this morning, even though I am supposed to wait until Monday morning.
222! That means I lost three pounds this week! Super yay! I think eating right, and then going to work was what did it for me! I "busted" on Friday, which means unloading and stocking freight. So that was hard work. Yay for me. Super excited.

Sorry Tanner
Yeah. I was not focused on my weight this week. I ate alright. But my whole family fell off the wagon a bit, we have pizza one day, I had some beers one day (yay beer, I don't drink hardly at all anymore and I am almost as much of a lightweight as Tanner now). But I weighed in half way through the week, as a cheat, and I was on track to lose a pound or two. I think I slowed down the progress Friday and Saturday. But that's okay. I will try to post more, and to make better choices. I need to work out this week. I also have a lot of things to get organized since next week I will probably start working. But I have been trying to stay positive and remember my goals. I've been dreaming about what to wear when Tanner gets home. How it would be nice to lose weight and buy a new outfit, or a new skirt or something sexy.

Back on track
As you can see on the blog I lost five days from my challenge. I did work out at least one of those days. I have been eating well.
Not going to lie. I binged last night. I ate one and a half peanut butter sandwiches. After a healthy dinner. I don't know why I did it. I do know that when I lose focus, I compound it. I say, "well today was bad anyways, I might as well eat whatever I want." So knowing this, I need to find a solution. There are going to be some off track days. With the holidays coming up this might even happen more often. So I need some concrete solutions to avoid compounding one mistake on top of another.
Rhea has lost over 40 pounds now.
I am weighing in every monday morning now that we have a schedule. Today 226.
I want to weigh 145, which is what I weighed in high school. Perhaps more, if it means I have more muscle. So that means I have 81 pounds to lose. That seems like a lot right now. I would love to lose 15 - 20 pounds before Tanner gets home. I have a little over 8 weeks. That means I need to lose 2.5 pounds a week until he gets back. Rhea lost more then that the first few weeks, so I know it is possible. My long term goal is to lose 50 pounds by my birthday. Which is April 7th. Given the number of weeks left, it means I would need to average 2.2 pounds per week until April. Hopefully I can do that. It's not an unrealistic goal.
Yay let's go!

Okay
Day 12 and 13 didn't work out. Oof! I have noticed a pattern, I am not working out on the weekends.
Day 14 is this morning, I got up and worked out a little with Kim. But I didn't work hard enough and will have to do it again.
I need to put up some big loses these next few weeks.

Day 10 and 11
Day 10. I cleaned at Rhea's new apartment. I count that as a work out.
Day 11 was a dud. I didn't do anything for my health. Unfortunately.
Today, our new scale arrived. I weigh 230 pounds! YAY! I weighed about 233 for months, no matter what I did. So even those three pounds feels like an accomplishment.
Now I have an accurate starting point. I hope I can really lose a good amount of weight before Tanner gets home. I also hope I can lose 50 pounds by my birthday. That would be a really good goal.
